WhatsApp is heading to releases new camera interface in Android beta version
WhatsApp has been tinkering with features and functionalities, including new message options and a restricted test of sharing files up to 2 GB.
It's the most popular messaging app in the world, with 5 billion downloads on the Google Play Store, and it's on every phone.
However, because WhatsApp additions don't always roll out to everyone at the same time—there are 2 billion monthly active users, after all—a new camera interface that has been available on iOS smartphones for months is just now being sent out to Android users.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android has an upgraded camera interface for select users. There's also a new design when it comes to picking media.
In addition, the camera's media bar, which was deleted in iOS and caused customer outrage, appears to have been returned.
Don't worry if you're not a beta tester. WhatsApp's rollout of new features might be delayed, but odds are you'll receive it soon.
If you're lucky, the camera's new design will be complemented with a 2 GB file-sharing capacity, making sending high-resolution photographs to your friends that much easier.
